When signing up for SpankPay you will be presented with a one-time onboarding walkthrough. This gives you the opportunity to complete your account profile before using SpankPay. You will be asked for information to complete your SpankPay Me profile, age verification, taxes, what currency you want to receive payments, and banking for withdrawals. These steps can be skipped and updated later in the QuickStart Menu or Account Settings.
Step 1: Complete Your Profile
Here you can upload images for your Avatar and Hero Image, update your name, link social media accounts. These will be visible to the public on your SpankPay.Me page where users process payments.
Note: Only your 'First Name' will be publicly displayed as your 'Stage Name.'
Step 2: Verify Your Identity
To verify your identity you will be asked to enter personal information. This information is sent directly to our verification partner Aristotle. SpankPay does not store this information.
You will be asked for:
1. Your legal name
2. Date of birth
3. Country of residence
4. To upload pictures of you and your ID
Note: Please be careful to upload pictures that are in good lighting and not blurry. Poor image quality may result in denial of your verification.
Step 3: Tax Information
For tax purposes one of three forms will need to be completed in order to withdraw payments. Click the dropdown menu and select one of the three options that best describes you.
- I am a U.S. person (citizen or green card), or a U.S. company
- Or… I am a non U.S. person
- Or… I am a non U.S. company
After making a selection, click the Launch Docusign button to complete the tax form.

Note: The form will ask for a TIN (Tax Identification Number) or EIN (Employer Identification Number). This is a government issued identification number that may be referred by another name depending on country of origin. An example is an SSN (Social Security Number) for a U.S. citizen.
Step 4: Select you Holding Currency
Since users have the option to send payments in multiple currencies, your Holding Currency is how those payments are converted and stored.
Incoming payments will be converted to whichever Holding Currency you select from the following:
Holding Currency is defaulted to 'USD.' Which means all payments received will be converted to the value of USD. If someone sends you $10 worth of ETH, BTC, etc. it will remain at $10.
If you select 'Ethereum' or 'Bitcoin' all incoming payments will be converted to ETH or BTC and are subject to market risk. If ETH or BTC go down, that will effect your Current Balance.
If 'Payment Currency' is selected, all incoming payments will be held as whatever currency was used in the transaction. If ETH is sent it will be held as ETH, USD as USD, and BTC as BTC.
